Mother
the face of mercy
and innocence
a dim ray of hope
through the pestilence
relief given to those who believe
are deceived
blind faith
of the dying
the weak
and the impoverished
where only days
separate graves
await their only
chance to be saved
with a blessing
from a saint
Prayers go unanswered
hope is revoked
reality controls
as mortality has not slowed
and the death toll rises
as pain
still remains

Suffering
beauty as seen
by divinity
through overpopulation
and disparity
unquestioned are the thoughts
that she speaks
or believes
witness
of a sacrificial slaughter
where no cure
but comfort
will be offered
holding your hand
while your life is lost
and watches
you meet god
Slowly
the agonizing sick become herded
and welcomed to the home of the dying
greeted by the angel of mercy
to be revealed as the angel of
death
Abandoned lives
disposed to die
no gods
or miracles exist
reputation
falsifies
what’s not denied
as truth sets in
grotesque obsessed
spectator of death
preaching in god
while breaching in faith
no mercy lives
in this voyeur of pain
and this is what is
called a saint?
